I can't say enough about this little lens from Tamron. Stop using lenes which sift the aperture over the zoom length. Pros will always use lenes with an apeture of f/2.8 or faster.

www.dslrfilmnoob.com The Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens fits firmly in the value category. At between 0 and 0 this lens covers a very usable range and an affordable price. If you are making the jump to a DSLR or trying to make do with the kit zoom the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 will be a nice step up. On the positive side: Price, Sharpness, and Fixed f2.8 across all focal lengths On the negative side: Noise auto focus, no full time manual focus, lens barrel extends out, and the lens is made out of plastic The Focal range is very usable the picture quality is very good and you are probably willing to put up with the focus noise for the price tag. Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Unboxing 720p/50 Canon 7D Video Clips. Duration : 5.93 Mins.
Photos with this lens: www.flickr.com Raw footage of me unboxing a new lens recorded on my Canon 7D with a 50mm f/1.8 II lens. The zoom is very stiff and sticks when you first use it so struggled a bit with it. Also I mention that the focus ring doesn't rotate when you auto-focus but have since found that it does. The lens filter is a Hoya UV mulitcoated.
